What we call soft skills is, simply put, self-competence, i.e. the art of handling oneself
in accordance with one‘s own needs and the requirements of the situation at hand.
Social competence is just one of the many aspects of self-competence.

The most important aspects of self-competence are:

These skills are just as important in the workplace as they are in private life.

They are easy to understand, fascinating to explore and very rewarding to practice.
Self-competence is the very foundation of a self-aware, self-dependant and fulfilled life.
(For more detailed information see my article on the soft skills in "Global Focus" Oct. 2013)

Having explored and systematized the soft skills for over 40 years I want to pass on what I found out to others.
I do this in training seminars, mostly in the business context, and in individual coaching sessions.
In 2005 I produced a 13-part TV-series for German TV (BR-alpha) called „Bewusst Leben - Psychologie für den Alltag“.
The TV-series and books about related topics are available in our webshop.
Right now I am finishing my comprehensive Handbook on the Soft Skills.
And I train trainers to teach the soft skills in the workplace and to adolescents.

Since I work mostly in German speaking countries (D, CH, A), my website is not quite ready (yet) for English visitors.
Nor for the French, which I also speak fluently. Sorry. I am working on it.

I can, however, offer you an attractive alternative:
Get in touch with me personally via Email: george(at)pennington-training(dot)com
I will answer you promptly and provide you with any information you require.

You can also try the phone (+49 (0)821 40821298).
In my absence my wife Margot will gladly provide information on my whereabouts and how to reach me.

With my best regards,

George Pennington
